Community Service

We strongly recommend a personal commitment to community service through volunteer work and expect a minimum of 125 hours during high school. Most students exceed the recommendation with an average of more than 300 hours of community service through participation in the following programs:

  • Rotary Interact
  • National Honor Society
  • National Spanish Honor Society
  • Teen Court
  • Student Council


Approximately 95% of Genesis students participate in extracurricular activities. Clubs are an important part of Genesis life, allowing students to pursue their unique interests and further their personal education outside the classroom. Genesis students are selected each year to participate in the following programs:

  • Presidential Classroom Scholars at the Georgetown University campus
  • Pages for the U.S. House of Representatives, where they garner advanced knowledge of the inner workings of that legislative body
  • Boys’ State, sponsored by the American Legion

  • Young Leaders Conference, sponsored by the Student Government of The University of Florida
